- Self-discharge: Pale Blue batteries have very low rest/self-discharge characteristics. This is one of the advantages of a lithium-ion battery with a control circuit compared to alkaline or NiMh batteries where the cell discharges directly into the circuit (no control circuit). The battery life in sleep mode depends partly on the environment. High ambient temperatures and higher humidity increase the internal drain.
